STEL BAILEY 2026

I FOUGHT FOR THIS COMMUNITY
Now I'm running to protect it

My story didn’t start with politics
IT STARTED WITH A FIGHT FOR MY LIFE.
Over a decade ago, I was diagnosed with cancer. While going through treatment, I learned about legacy contamination in the drinking water where I grew up, here in Brevard County, including PFAS exposure affecting military families and our community.
THAT MOMENT CHANGED EVERYTHING.
What started as a personal fight turned into something bigger. I began digging deeper, asking questions, and refusing to accept silence when people were being exposed, ignored, or pushed aside.
I REFUSED TO STAY SILENT.
Since then, I’ve spent years advocating for this community, helping push for the first-ever drinking water standards for PFAS, contributing to federal action and funding, supporting military readiness efforts, and standing up for issues that others wouldn’t touch.
I'VE FOUGHT FOR CLEAN WATER.
For accountability in local government. For our firefighters and public safety. For protecting the Indian River Lagoon. And for the people who felt like no one was listening.
I'm also a mother of two.
EVERYTHING I'VE DONE HAS BEEN DRIVEN BY ONE THING:
making sure my kids, and yours, grow up in a community that is safe, strong, and worth protecting.
I DIDN'T SET OUT TO RUN FOR OFFICE.
But after years of stepping in when leadership fell short, I know we need people in these roles who understand what’s at stake and aren’t afraid to act.
THIS COMMUNITY DESERVES LEADERSHIP THAT SHOWS UP.
This isn’t new for me. It’s just the next step.

Florida raised Community tested Driven by results
FROM COMMUNITY ADVOCACY TO REAL RESULTS
What started as a fight to understand why my family was diagnosed with cancer became more than a personal battle.
After learning our illnesses were likely linked to environmental exposure, I began researching water contamination, conducting independent testing, and working alongside scientists, physicians, and affected families to push for answers and accountability.
That work helped contribute to the national conversation that ultimately led to the first federal drinking water standards for PFAS chemicals.
Over the last decade, my advocacy expanded into government accountability, environmental protection, investigative reporting, public records research, and helping residents navigate systems that too often ignore ordinary people.
I have worked alongside community members, scientists, first responders, veterans, attorneys, and policymakers at the local, state, and federal level to help bring attention to issues that were being overlooked and push for practical solutions that made a real difference.
The work was not always easy. Speaking up came with pressure, retaliation, and resistance. But I never stopped showing up for this community.
These are some of the efforts, partnerships, and real-world results from that work.

THIS COMMUNITY RAISED ME, AND I'M COMMITTED TO A STRONGER FUTURE FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
This isn’t just where I live, it’s home.
My family’s roots are here. My grandparents are buried here. Everything I’ve done has been about protecting this community. Now I’m stepping up to lead it forward.
I’m up against big money and outside influence. If you want leadership rooted here, not just passing through, I need your help.
